Embarking on the Reno Process

We started this home renovation journey the day we purchased our home. Well, I purchased our home. The home came as unnecessary baggage for my poor husband. It came as a package deal as part of loving me. Because I loved this house. Loved it.
The house never even had good bones. It was oddly shaped. A mismatch of angles and styles. An investor had slapped some lipstick on it after a foreclosure. But when I entered, it was home. I saw something that wasn't even close to being there. While everyone else saw the numerous flaws, my heart and eyes only saw the potential. My head wasn't 100% sold, but I told myself that the schools were ok, crime was low, and neighborhood established. It was affordable and I desperately wanted to own my own property. Plus, it had a neat view and cute yard for our dog to run and play.
So I bought a home. And my husband reluctantly joined me on a journey into home renovations. They have included using other contractors, subcontractors, and tons of DIY. We hope to use this blog to share our personal experiences in our own home and in renovating the homes of others. We'll share the good, the bad, and the down-right ugly.
Even if the vision takes years to realize, eventually you will get there. We hope sharing our journey will inspire you along your own!
